German Marquez Notches A Quality Start
4 years agoColorado Rockies right-handed pitcher German Marquez picked up a no-decision on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks. He allowed three runs on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks over six innings to pick up his first quality start of the year. The Rockies would go on to lose 10-8 in 13 innings. The 26-year-old right-hander was actually pitching a shutout until the top of the fifth inning when opposing pitcher Luke Weaver, of all batters, hit an RBI single. Christian Walker then tied up the ball game with a two-run shot in the sixth inning before Marquez finished off the frame. This goes down as a solid performance after Marquez's disastrous Opening Day start versus the Dodgers when he walked six batters. He gets the Giants on the road in his next turn and will be a popular DFS option for that one.
