3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander German Marquez earned the win on Sunday when he surrendered one run on four hits with a walk and six strikeouts across six innings in a 3-1 win over the Oakland Athletics. Marquez once again put up another sharp outing on Sunday. He didn't allow a run to come across the plate until the sixth inning when Sean Murphy knocked in Tony Kemp with an RBI double. He scattered four hits total with one walk over his six innings of work and struck out six. The 26-year-old hurler has now worked four straight quality starts and lowered his season ERA to a respectable 3.91 to go along with a 1.35 WHIP and 75:34 K/BB ratio over 71 1/3 innings (13 starts). He's got a tough matchup on the road in Cincinnati for his next start but he's built up some trust with fantasy managers over the last month.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
