German Marquez Takes Loss In Six-Inning Complete Game
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez was masterful Thursday afternoon, throwing six innings of one-run ball on three hits and one walk with six strikeouts, but it wasn't enough to earn him a victory against the New York Mets. Marquez took the hard-luck loss in a 1-0 game to bring his record to 3-5 for the year. Marquez has not pitched up to the level fantasy managers have come to expect of him this year, with a 4.47 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, and 62 strikeouts in 58 1/3 innings, though he now has quality starts in his last two outings, and three of his last four. He'll look to keep the streak going in his next matchup early next week against the Texas Rangers.
