3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander German Marquez took a no-decision on Sunday when he allowed two runs on five hits with one walk and 11 strikeouts over six innings in a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Marquez punched out a season-best 11 batters on Sunday and found out he would be the Rockies' lone representative in the upcoming All-Star game, not a bad day. The only runs he allowed came via a Harrison Bader two-run homer in the top of the second inning but he was sharp other than that. The 26-year-old has now notched four straight quality starts and owns a 3.59 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 105:41 K/BB ratio over 105 1/3 innings (18 starts). He'll square off against the Padres on the road in his final start before the All-Star break.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
