Geronimo Allison Misses Minicamp with Ankle Injury
7 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison missed Wednesday’s minicamp with an undisclosed ankle injury. The third-year wide receiver is currently slated to be third on Green Bay’s depth chart. Green Bay uses three-wide receiver sets as frequently as any team in the NFL, so he would occupy a lucrative role as one of the outside receivers on most snaps for an Aaron Rodgers-led offense. Allison’s role is still very much in the air. The former undrafted rookie signing has proven to be a dependable player, but he lacks the athleticism to really excel. Green Bay drafted three wide receivers who will all compete for Allison’s spot. Notable amongst those is J’Mon Moore, who would give Green Bay’s offense a speed element it is lacking, as well as Equanimeous St. Brown, a very talented wide receiver who fell in the draft due to the eccentric nature of himself and his family. Allison missing time does not help him in his depth chart battle with these rookies.
