3 years agoNew York Yankees starter Gerrit Cole had another tough outing as he allowed three earned runs to the Blue Jays this past Wednesday. Cole himself earned the no-decision, but New York still fell to Toronto by a score of 6-4. On a positive note, he lasted 5.2 innings, allowing just one walk while striking out six batters. He ranks in the 85th percentile for whiff rate this season, but otherwise, his metrics aren't very good. The veteran right-hander ranks among the bottom quarter of the league in xSLG, exit velocity, and barrel rate. He remains a top fantasy option, but he doesn't have the No. 1 pitcher allure that existed prior to last season's sticky stuff crackdown.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
