6 years agoHouston Astros starter Gerrit Cole allowed three runs through seven innings, striking out eight Sunday against the Indians. Cole's outing got off to a rocky start, allowing a two-run home run in the first inning to Jose Ramirez and then an RBI double to Greg Allen in the second inning. From that point Cole shut down the Indians, allowing only one hit the rest of the way. In a season of elite performances, Cole's performance wasn't his best but still kept his team in the game. His ERA took a bump up to a still-impressive 2.05 and now has struck out at least seven hitters in 10 of his 11 starts this season.--Joey C - RotoBaller
