5 years agoHouston Astros starter Gerrit Cole did exactly what was expected on Thursday night, striking out 12 over seven shutout innings, while scattering two hits in a 6-3 win over the Detroit Tigers. That makes 14 times that Cole has struck out double-digits in a game this year and he continues to push teammate Justin Verlander for the favorite in the AL Cy Young race, as well as being arguably the best pitcher in fantasy.
