4 years agoNew York Yankee starting pitcher Gerrit Cole had another excellent outing despite being charged with the loss on Sunday against the Rays. Cole pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs- two of them earned- on five hits with 10 strikeouts compared to no walks. The 30-year-old ace posted an excellent 34 percent CSW (called strikes and whiffs) and registered 18 swinging strikes, 13 of them on his fastball-change combo. Cole was more than good enough to earn the win, but the Yankee bats went cold once again, leaving him empty-handed for his efforts. He owns a 1.82 ERA with a 39:3 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 24 2/3 innings pitched through four starts. Cole is every bit of the fantasy ace his managers drafted him to be, with an upcoming start against the Indians on April 23.--Tim Capurso
