6 years agoHouston Astros starter Gerrit Cole will take the mound Monday night looking for his 11th win of the season against the Mariners. Cole (10-2) has been lights-out from the first start of the season and has struck out at least seven hitters in 18 of his 21 starts this season. He currently is averaging 12.43 strikeouts per nine innings this season with a sparkling 0.98 WHIP and a 2.54 ERA. Cole will face the Mariners for the second time this season after allowing five hits and one unearned run through seven innings pitched on April 18.
