3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitchers Gerrit Cole and Jordan Montgomery are close to returning to the rotation. Both Cole and Montgomery tested positive for COVID-19, though they are expected to rejoin the team on the road this week, per manager Aaron Boone. The Yankee hurlers have been able to throw and work out together and are slated to toss bullpen sessions over the weekend, at which point the club will decide when they'll be able to rejoin the rotation. Cole and Montgomery rank 1-2 among qualified starters on the Yankee staff in innings pitched, strikeouts, and ERA, as they've been equally valuable to both the club and fantasy managers who roster them.--Tim Capurso
