6 years agoHouston Astros starter Gerrit Cole held a potent Red Sox lineup at bay Friday, allowing three runs through seven innings pitched in the Astros 7-3 win. Cole allowed two home runs but struck out seven as he improved to 6-1 on the season. Cole has been lights out all season but had to rely on more guile after allowing back-to-back jacks to the Red Sox Mitch Moreland and J.D. Martinez. It wasn't his most dominant performance of the season but Cole still carries a sparkling 2.20 ERA into his next start.--Joey C - RotoBaller
