6 years agoHouston Astros pitcher Gerrit Cole will start Monday night as the team opens up a huge series against the Mariners in Seattle. Houston's division lead has tightened up over the last few weeks and they lead by only one game over the A's heading into this week's action. Cole has been nothing but fantastic all season long but is only 2-4 since June 29th. This will be the fourth start against the Mariners this season for Cole, posting a 1-2 record against them with 18 strikeouts and six earned runs through 21 innings. Cole takes a sparkling 12.32 K/9 into Monday's game this season and also has struck out 107 hitters through 82 innings pitching away from Minute Maid Park.
