Gerrit Cole Touches 99 Mph In Simulated Game
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole looked to be in midseason form during a simulated game on Thursday, touching 99 mph with his fastball. Cole’s fastball got up to 101 mph last season, and he'll look to repeat his impressive 2019 performance this year in his first season in pinstripes. Last season, Cole posted a 2.50 ERA with 34% K-BB% on his way to a top-three finish in the American League Cy Young award voting. Cole is likely to be a fantasy ace again this year, and his ability to return from the break with a strong fastball does little to dispel that notion.
