Giancarlo Stanton Activated From Injured List Saturday
2 years agoThe New York Yankees reinstated outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (ankle) from the 10-day injured list on Saturday. Stanton is immediately back in the lineup as the DH and is batting cleanup on Saturday against Detroit Tigers right-hander Beau Brieske. The 32-year-old slugger will return from right ankle inflammation that has been bothering him since late May. Fantasy managers will want to get him back into their starting lineups immediately. In 40 games before going on the injured list, Stanton was hitting .285/.339/.523 with an .862 OPS, 11 home runs, 35 RBI and 15 runs scored in 168 plate appearances. Matt Carpenter had been seeing time as the DH against right-handers with Stanton out, but he'll now head to the bench.
