4 years agoNew York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in a 5-3 win over the Indians on Friday. Both of Stanton's homers were missiles headed towards the outfield seats, as each registered an exit velocity of 115-MPH or greater, including 118 MPH, the hardest-hit ball in the majors this year. The slugger became the first hitter in the Statcast era to have multiple home runs with 115-MPH or greater exit velocities in the same game. It's safe to say that Stanton, who has four long balls in his last six games, is heating up at the dish. He'll get a tough matchup on Saturday against Indians' ace Shane Bieber, though he homered against Bieber in the playoffs last season.--Tim Capurso
