Giancarlo Stanton Could Be Activated During Next Series
4 years agoNew York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (quad) is progressing well in his recovery from a left quad strain, and could be activated during the Yankees' next series against the Blue Jays, according to Pete Caldera of the Bergen Record. Stanton was placed on the IL on Monday, with the move retroactive to May 14. He's been looking good at the plate so far this year, slashing .282/.347/.534 with nine homers, 24 RBI and 16 runs scored in 33 games. Managers should monitor for further updates this weekend, but barring any setbacks he should be good to go early next week, and managers in weekly leagues should feel safe in slotting him back into the lineup.
