4 years agoNew York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton will have the day off on Saturday, sitting out the matchup with the Detroit Tigers. The Yankees have opted to go with a schedule with Stanton this year of holding him out of the lineup for afternoon games immediately following a night game in order to keep him healthy throughout the season. Stanton has already matched his 2020 total of 23 games played, and he's been putting up better numbers at the plate this year with a .269/.320/.495 triple-slash line to go with six home runs, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored. Look for him to return to action Sunday.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
