Giancarlo Stanton Getting Wednesday Off
3 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Aaron Judge, who hit a walk-off home run to beat Toronto on Tuesday, will serve as the designated hitter and bat second against Blue Jays right-hander Jose Berrios. Utility man Marwin Gonzalez will start in right field and hit eighth in the lineup. Along with the rest of the Yankees, Stanton is having a solid start to his season, hitting .259/.291/.463 with seven home runs, 22 RBI and nine runs scored in his first 28 games played. Judge has been even better, making an early case for MVP by hitting .290/.356/.626 with a .982 OPS, a league-leading 10 home runs, 22 RBI, 21 runs scored and two stolen bases.
