Giancarlo Stanton Healthy Enough To Play
5 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (calf) is reportedly in game shape, with manager Aaron Boone saying that Stanton is healthy enough to play in spring training games. Stanton suffered a calf strain in late February and was sidelined for the entire shortened spring, so Boone’s update is encouraging. When healthy, Stanton is an elite power hitter with a career 93.4 mph average exit velocity and a 48.5% hard-hit rate. Although sometimes labeled as injury-prone, Stanton played in more than 155 games in two of the past three seasons. Fantasy owners should expect Stanton to be fully healthy in 2020, and the outfielder should once again post an OPS north of .850.
