4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) ran the bases at half speed on Friday and is nearing a return, according to manager Aaron Boone. Boone said that Stanton is a little bit ahead of fellow outfielder Aaron Judge (calf), who is expected to rejoin the team shortly before the postseason. That puts Stanton’s likely return date sometime during the week of September 13, giving him time to produce in the fantasy playoffs. Fantasy players should expect Stanton to hit well when he returns to the lineup with an OPS around .900, and his return should bump first baseman and DH Mike Ford out of the lineup.--Sam Chinitz
