4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton had a rough day at the plate on Thursday, striking out three times and failing to reach base in five plate appearances. Even Stanton's batted balls were disappointing on Thursday, with his two balls in play both posting exit velocities south of 82 mph. Strikeouts will probably always be a significant negative for Stanton's fantasy value, but fantasy managers shouldn't read much into Thursday's performance and expect the 31-year-old to be one of the league's best power hitters when healthy this season.--Sam Chinitz
