2 years agoThe San Francisco Giants acquired right-hander Tobias Myers from the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations. The Giants have optioned Myers to Triple-A Sacramento and right-hander Anthony DeSclafani (ankle) has been moved to the 60-day injured list. Myers, who was listed by MLB Pipeline as the Guardians' No. 20 prospect, had really struggled at Triple-A Columbus with a 6.00 ERA, 1.77 WHIP, 40 strikeouts and 33 walks in 60 innings over 14 starts before the trade. San Francisco will attempt to turn the 23-year-old's season around in the minors as they continue his development. Myers has an intriguing fastball but doesn't have a huge margin for error, and he'll need to show much more consistency if he wants to make it to the big leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
