2 years agoThe San Francisco Giants have a deal in place to acquire outfielder Willie Calhoun from the Texas Rangers on Thursday in exchange for outfielder Steven Duggar (oblique). Injuries have held Calhoun back in his six seasons with the Rangers, but a change of scenery and more playing time could do him well. The 27-year-old was hitting just .136 (6-for-44) with a home run and two RBI in 18 games for Texas this year before they sent him to the minors. The Giants are in need of outfield help with Luis Gonzalez (back) going on the injured list, but Calhoun will have to earn an opportunity with his new club. Duggar hadn't played since April 21 due to a left oblique strain, but the Rangers have activated him after the trade went through. Duggar has gone just 7-for-36 in 12 games this year, but he could eventually become the Rangers starting center fielder.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
