7 years agoJon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that the San Francisco Giants can still look into free-agent outfielder Lorenzo Cain. The Giants acquired outfielder Andrew McCutchen earlier in the day, but the Giants have been looking to add two outfielders all offseason. Cain was given a qualifying offer by the Royals. Due to this, the Giants would have to give up draft compensation if they sign Cain. Multiple sources this offseason have reported that the Giants prefer not to sign a player who would require such a loss, but they are not 100 percent against it. The likelier route would be to trade for an outfielder or sign one who does not have a draft pick attached to him. The Giants have previously been linked to Reds outfielder Billy Hamilton and free-agent J.D. Martinez.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
