3 years agoThe San Francisco Giants have reportedly designated outfielder Austin Dean for assignment on Sunday, according to MLB.com's Maria I. Guardado. Dean spent parts of the last two seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals, hitting .233 with a .342 on-base percentage and a home run in 38 plate appearances at the Major League level last season. He hit .213 with a .339 on-base percentage and a home run in 56 plate appearances for St. Louis' Triple-A affiliate. San Francisco's current outfield options include Jaylin Davis, Joc Pederson, Steven Duggar, Austin Slater, LaMonte Wade Jr., Mike Yastrzemski and Darin Ruf.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
