3 years agoThe New York Giants exercised the fifth-year option on defensive end Dexter Lawrence on Thursday, according to a source. In other Giants news, the team declined to pick up quarterback Daniel Jones' fifth-year option, as expected. Lawrence, who was the 17th overall pick in 2019, has played well as a pass-rusher and run defender in three seasons with the G-Men. The 24-year-old from Clemson had a career-high 54 tackles (27 solo), five tackles for loss, 11 QB hits, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 16 games (10 starts) in 2021.
