Giants Getting Inquiries On Darius Slayton
2 years agoThe New York Giants have received trade inquiries on wide receiver Darius Slayton, according to a source. Slayton was mentioned as a potential trade candidate earlier this summer, so this shouldn't come as a big surprise to most folks. The 25-year-old has been buried on New York's receiver depth chart in training camp behind Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney, rookie Wan'Dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard. If Slayton is released or traded, the Giants would save $2.54 million in salary cap space. New York's receiving room was decimated by injuries in 2021, but Slayton wasn't able to take advantage, catching a career-low 26 passes for 339 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games (five starts). His best path to playing time and potential fantasy relevance is elsewhere.
