Giants Ink Ryan Santoso; Will Likely Kick Sunday

2 years agoThe New York Giants are bringing aboard kicker Ryan Santoso ahead of Sunday's preseason finale against the Jets with Graham Gano (concussion) sidelined. The 6-foot-5 Santoso inks the deal on his 27th birthday, reuniting him with the franchise after having been originally signed to the practice squad in 2020. Santoso has appeared in seven games over the past three years with Tennessee, Carolina and Detroit, primarily as a kickoff specialist. He has gone 4-for-5 on field goal attempts in that time, but he has yet to knock through a kick longer than 35 yards. The Giants have more than two weeks for Gano to clear concussion protocol and take the field against the Titans; the veteran is currently on the fence of fantasy viability, rostered in nearly half of all leagues, per ESPN.--Jesse Borek
