Giants Pick Up Fifth-Year Option On Evan Engram
5 years agoThe New York Giants picked up the fifth-year option on tight end Evan Engram's rookie contract. The move protects Engram from being cut due to injury, which is important for a player like Engram who has missed a lot of time due to injury. The former first-round pick has missed 14 games in his first three seasons, including missing eight games with a Lisfranc sprain last year. Before the injury, Engram had 44 receptions for 467 in eight games. The Giants didn't make any significant upgrades to their pass-catchers in the draft, so Engram will see plenty of targets in Jason Garrett's offense. When he's healthy, Engram has top-5 TE upside, but also carries some risk.
