Giants Want Daniel Jones To "Turn It Loose"
3 years agoNew York Giants head coach Brian Daboll wants quarterback Daniel Jones to "turn it loose" this season. "Yeah, look, we want to make sure we protect the ball," Daboll said. "But again, you can't go out there and play afraid. Be smart, not reckless, if you will. If he's got a shot on the right read, let it go." Jones has worked in the past to limit turnovers -- he threw 17 interceptions the last two years -- but it has led to a conservative approach. The 24-year-old has 49 total turnovers since he was a first-rounder in 2019, which is tied for third-most in the league. Jones has the weapons around him to be successful in 2022, especially if running back Saquon Barkley stays healthy, but fantasy managers shouldn't invest in him as anything more than a potential upside QB2.
