Gio Urshela Hitting At Alternate Site

4 years agoNew York Yankees third baseman Gio Urshela (elbow) is hitting at the team’s alternate site on Sunday, keeping him in line to rejoin the major league lineup as soon as he’s eligible on Tuesday. With outfielder and DH Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) also likely to return sometime this week or early next week, the Yankees are set for a shakeup in their lineup. The Yankees are most likely to move infielder DJ LeMahieu back to second base, slot Urshela back in at third base, and use Stanton at DH, so infielder Tyler Wade and third baseman/outfielder Miguel Andujar are likely to be playing time casualties, and Andujar will be even further impacted by outfielder Aaron Judge’s (calf) impending return.--Sam Chinitz
