7 years agoThe Oakland Raiders have informed place kicker Giorgio Tavecchio that he is being waived, according to a source. Tavecchio was competing with rookie Eddie Pineiro, and veteran Mike Nugent was signed in Tavecchio's place. Tavecchio made 16 of his 21 field goal attempts last year with the Raiders, including going 3-for-4 on 50-plus yard tries. Apparently the Raiders are high enough on Pineiro that they were comfortable letting Tavecchio go. Rookie kickers can always be a little dicey for fantasy owners -- see Roberto Aguayo with Tampa Bay -- but Pineiro could be a waiver wire addition early in the year if he proves worthy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
