5 years agoCincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard had four yards on three carries in addition to a reception during Thursday's preseason loss to the New York Giants. With Joe Mixon (rest) and Trayveon Williams (foot) out of the lineup, Bernard got in a little work on a night that saw Rodney Anderson, the team's potential third-string back, run for seven yards on eight carries. As the Bengals head into the final preseason matchup with the Colts, don't expect Bernard to be featured as he has a firm lock as the reserve to Mixon while also serving as a quasi-receiver out of the backfield.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
