3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Giovanny Gallegos earned the save in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Kansas City Royals. With Alex Reyes unavailable after throwing two games in a row including a ton of pitches on Thursday, Gallegos was called on for the ninth inning. He responded by inducing three fly ball outs and wrapping up the game with little issue. Gallegos has been a little less effective lately, probably due to overuse all season, but he now has two saves and a still solid 3.30 ERA. He'll continue to be a strong relief pitcher choice in holds leagues.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
