6 years agoThe Vegas Golden Knights signed forward Nikita Gusev to a one-year contract on Sunday. General manager George McPhee said the scouting staff has had its eyes on Gusev since acquiring his rights from the Tampa Bay Lightning during the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft. Gusev led the KHL (Russia) with 82 points (17 goals, 65 assists) across 62 games. He is expected to join the Golden Knights for practice on Monday, and he is eligible to play in the playoffs immediately, although it's uncertain if the team will plug him right in. He could emerge as a low-cost steal in DFS if he does in fact draw in and score like he did in the KHL.--Daniel Dobish
