Grayson Rodriguez Diagnosed With Grade 2 Lat Strain
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles pitching prospect Grayson Rodriguez (lat) has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 right lat strain, according to general manager Mike Elias. It means the No. 3 overall prospect in baseball won't return to action until September. The Orioles aren't ruling anything out, but their focus will now be on getting Rodriguez ready for Opening Day of the 2023 season. There's a good chance that the 22-year-old right-hander is done for the remainder of 2022. Rodriguez left his last start for Triple-A Norfolk with right lat pain. It's a shame, since he was getting close to his first major league call-up after carving up Triple-A hitters with a 2.09 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and an 80:14 K:BB in 56 minor league innings. Rodriguez should already be stashed in dynasty/keeper leagues, and he should be on the radar in mixed leagues in 2023.
