Green Bay Retains Michael Clark and Geronimo Allison
7 years agoThe Green Bay Packers signed nine players on Tuesday that they had tendered as exclusive-rights free agents. Notable among those players are wide receivers Geronimo Allison and Michael Clark. With the departure of long-time Packer Jordy Nelson, there are tentatively a number of targets in Green Bay open for another wide receiver to grab. Allison is presumably the one who will take Nelson’s place in the offense. Allison is a reliable player but is limited athletically and his ceiling as one of Green Bay’s primary receiving options is limited. Clark is a raw player who only recently converted to football. He is a huge target who flashed at points last year, but he is still likely some time away before being able to contribute on a consistent basis. Green Bay was aggressively pursuing wide receivers in free agency and will likely continue to pursue additional firepower at the position early in the draft. So expectations for Allison and Clark should be tempered for the time being.
