3 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates placed outfielder Greg Allen (hamstring) on the 60-day injured list on Thursday. Right-handed pitcher Adonis Medina has also been designated for assignment. Allen suffered a hamstring injury in a Grapefruit League game last Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays and will be on the shelf to open the 2022 campaign. He will miss at least the first two months of the season after slashing .294/.538/.765 with two home runs, a triple, seven runs, four RBI and four stolen bases in spring training. The 29-year-old played in 15 games with the New York Yankees last year and hit .270 with no homers, two RBI and five stolen bases in 48 plate appearances.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
