6 years agoThe Carolina Panthers plan to keep tight end Greg Olsen (foot) on the 53-man roster instead of putting him on Injured Reserve, according to a source. However, right tackle Daryl Williams (knee) will likely land on the IR. This means that the Panthers are hoping Olsen can return to them later in the season. When that might happen is unknown and will depend on how quickly he heals from another fractured foot. It'll make it more difficult to justify holding onto Olsen in shallow leagues. In his absence, rookie tight end Ian Thomas will become a starter and see significant snaps. He should be considered off the waiver wire as a TE2 with low-end TE1 upside.
