Gregory Polanco Back In Lineup Thursday Amid Struggles
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco rejoins the starting nine for Thursday’s tilt against Cincinnati and right-handed pitcher Anthony DeSclafani. Polanco has been in a deep slump at the plate to begin 2020 having collected just two hits in 29 at-bats. But aside from his gaudy K% numbers (45.5), Polanco is actually tagging the ball when he does make contact with 60% of his balls put in play coming at 95+ MPH or higher. He may have some DFS appeal Thursday playing at Great American Ball Park as his launch angle this season averages out to 28 degrees, more than double the Major League average from last season. The strikeouts will likely keep most season-long owners out of the conversation, but should he get better results over the next few weeks, Polanco regains his former high upside.
