7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday. The blast came in the sixth inning, cutting the White Sox lead in half to 4-2. It was Polanco's seventh home run of the season as he continues to try climbing out of an early-season funk that brought his batting average down to .198 at the end of April. Fortunately, his increased walk rate (13.0 percent) has kept him at an above-average level of production on the season (114 wRC+). With some better batted-ball luck (.242 batting average on balls in play), Polanco should get the current .225 average turned around.--Matt Wilkes
