7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco is not in Saturday's lineup against the Padres. San Diego is starting left-hander Clayton Richard, so the Pirates likely opted to give Polanco the day off and play the matchup with righty Jose Osuna instead. Polanco has had a very good season thus far as he is managing to stay healthy and flashing the power and speed that Pirates fans had been hoping for. His batting average has been fairly mediocre at .230, but his 12.7% walk rate more than makes up for it. He will probably be back in the lineup Sunday against the right-hander Jordan Lyles.--Kev Mahserejian - RotoBaller
