Gregory Polanco Returns to Pirates Lineup
7 years agoAfter a brief three-game absence, Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco (knee) returned to action on Sunday, playing five innings. Polanco bruised his left knee sliding into a base last Wednesday and was held out for precautionary reasons. Given his injury history -- he missed 54 games last season due to various ailments -- Pittsburgh fans and fantasy owners likely held their breath when it was announced he was scratched from the lineup on Friday. Fortunately, it was nothing major and the team was playing it safe, but Polanco still needs to prove he can stay healthy to reach his potential and regain the trust of fantasy owners. He has looked impressive when on the field this spring, going 3-for-8 with a double and a home run.
