Gregory Polanco Trained Hard In Offseason
7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco took his offseason training very seriously after having the worst season of his career in 2017, in which he played in only 108 games due to shoulder, groin and hamstring injuries that caused him to land on the disabled list three separate times. Polanco trained in the Dominican Republic after his rookie season in 2014 and saw excellent results in 2015 and 2016 with trainer Kelvin Terrero, but last offseason he changed it up in favor of adding power. Terrero's focus for Polanco is more on agility than pure strength. After training with Terrero again, Polanco lost five points in body fat and feels leaner, looser and healthier. His injuries were probably the biggest reason why he disappointed for fantasy owners last season. Polanco has plenty of room to improve in 2018 after a down year, and he's a nice buy-low target in dynasty leagues.
