2 years agoDetroit Tigers closer Gregory Soto picked up his 16th save of the season in Monday's Game 1 4-1 win over the Guardians. Soto came in to pitch the ninth inning up by three. He allowed a leadoff walk, got the next two hitters out on a strikeout and ground out, allowed another walk, and closed the game on another ground out. The 27-year-old has had a walk issue this season but has been solid otherwise, converting all but two save opportunities with a 2.48 ERA, 30 strikeouts, and 14 walks over 29 innings pitched. He has been the clear closer for the Tigers this season and that should continue as long as he converts his save opportunities.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
