5 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Griffin Canning gave up one earned run in six innings but settled for a no-decision Wednesday vs the Athletics. Canning scattered three hits while striking out five and didn't walk a batter. Canning has given up only two runs in his past three starts spanning 18 innings. The most impressive part of Canning's game is his three-pitch mix, all of which are swing-and-miss pitches. If Canning had enough pitches to qualify, his swinging strike rate would rank third in the Majors behind only Blake Snell and Gerrit Cole.
