Gus Edwards Rolls Up 76 Yards On 12 Carries
6 years agoBaltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards had a solid game despite sharing carries with Kenneth Dixon as he tallied 76 yards on 12 carries in Sunday's victory over the Browns. It was the seventh straight week that the undrafted rookie garnered double-digit carries and he has totaled at least 67 yards on the ground in each of those games. His 6.3 yards per carry marked the third time that he topped six yards per attempt in a game. Edwards has a so-so matchup against the Chargers, who the Ravens face in one of the AFC's Wild Card games, as he produced 92 yards on 14 carries against them in Week 16, although 46 of the yards came on a single carry. The Chargers are ninth in the league against the run (105.8). However, the Ravens managed to rack up 159 yards on the ground with Edwards and Kenneth Dixon combing for 120 of those yards. Dixon is probably the better fantasy option as there is a very good chance that the two backs split carries, as they did against the Browns, and Dixon is the better pass catcher out of the backfield.
