Gus Edwards Struggles On Sunday
4 years agoBaltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards finished with 23 yards off 11 attempts during the win over the Colts on Sunday. He also caught two passes for 11 yards. For the second consecutive week, Edwards received an enhanced role due to the absence of Mark Ingram II (ankle), who is considered week-to-week. While he split carries once again with rookie J.K. Dobbins, who had 12 attempts for 30 yards, neither player reached the level of efficiency that they had in Week 8 against the Steelers. Both men should continue to receive touches out of the backfield until Ingram can make his way back, which could come as early as next weekend against the Patriots for a Sunday Night Football showdown. Until then, Edwards and Dobbins should be considered adequate options with upside for those looking to fill an injury or bye week void.
