4 years agoSan Diego Padres infielder Ha-Seong Kim walloped his first big league homer Saturday against the Texas Rangers, finishing 1-for-2 with two runs scored and reaching base three times. Kim's solo dinger came in the fifth inning, as he nailed the left field foul pole off starter Jordan Lyles. The 25-year-old has endured a bumpy introduction to the majors, slashing .200/.333/.350 with five runs-plus-RBI in 24 plate appearances, but he's been playing every day while shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (shoulder) is on the IL. After struggling with strikeouts during spring, Kim has encouragingly fanned just 20 percent at the dish. With uncertain playing time on the horizon once Tatis returns, Kim holds marginal fantasy value but could serve as a rotational middle infielder in deeper and NL-only formats.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
